William Wordsworth’s The Prelude is an autobiographical poem written for the poet’s friend Samuel Taylor Coleridge that chronicles Wordsworth’s life from early childhood onward. Wordsworth began the poem in 1806 and continued to work on it for almost thirty years, but it was not published until after the poet's death in 1850. It began as a relatively short, two part work finished in 1799 but. Aixue Wang's welcome translation appears a century and a half after the poem's first publication. The Prelude is William Wordsworths masterpiece and one of the greatest poems of all-time.
